The Home

A modern mountain retreat in the heart of the valley

Both bedrooms sit on the lower level, tucked away from the main living area — so someone can turn in early while the rest of the group keeps going. Bedroom one has a king, bedroom two a queen, and the sofa bed upstairs sleeps two more. There's a full bathroom on each floor, so nobody's climbing stairs at 2am or waiting on the shower before first chair.

Upstairs is the part people remember. Vaulted ceilings, oversized windows, and an open floor plan that runs kitchen to dining to living room, all of it framing the meadow and the peaks behind it. There's a fireplace, a smart TV, and enough counter space to actually cook.

Step out onto the deck and the valley opens up. It's the right place for coffee at 7am and the right place for a beer at 5pm.

Questions

The things people ask first

Can you walk to Palisades Tahoe from Alpenglow Loft?

Yes. The Palisades Tahoe base area and the Village are about a five-minute walk — across the street and through a parking lot. Most Olympic Valley rentals require a drive or a shuttle; this one doesn't.

Do I need a car?

Not for skiing. You can walk to the lifts, and a free shuttle runs to both Palisades and Alpine Meadows in winter. You'll want a car to reach Tahoe City, the lake, or Truckee. Parking is free on site but limited to one vehicle.

How many people does it sleep?

Six. A king bed and a queen bed in the two downstairs bedrooms, plus a queen sofa bed in the upstairs living room. There's a full bathroom on each floor.

Are pets allowed?

No. Pets aren't permitted, and there's no smoking anywhere in the unit.

Do I need snow tires or chains?

In winter, 4WD with snow tires or chains is strongly recommended. Olympic Valley sits at high elevation and conditions change fast.

Can I work from here?

Yes. Wi-Fi runs at 500 Mbps and there's a dedicated desk and chair, separate from the living area.

What is there to do in summer?

Hiking and mountain biking start at the valley floor, plus scenic chairlift rides, rock climbing, live music and festivals. The Truckee River nearby is good for floating, kayaking and fly fishing.

How far is Lake Tahoe?

Tahoe City and the lakefront are five miles away. Historic downtown Truckee is about twelve.

What people say

★★★★★

“We had an amazing stay in Tahoe! The condo is beautifully updated, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The location across from the Olympic Village at Palisades Tahoe is hard to beat, with the mountain, restaurants, and shops just steps away. The mountain views are fantastic, and the space feels stylish and cozy without losing that Tahoe character. Would absolutely stay here again!”
